Beware Craig’s List.. and maybe even eBay if this thing goes commercial. Google Base is no longer a myth. Starting this morning, users can go ahead and upload all types of content for indexing in Google Base.
Want to sell a car, find a job, post an article..? or in reverse.. maybe you need to find a car, need an employee or would like an up to date article to add fresh content to your website. This type of information and more will be filling up Google’s plethora of data centers and servers.
Quoting Google:
“Help the world find your content
Google Base is a place where you can add all types of information that we’ll host and make searchable online.
You can describe any item you post with attributes, which will help people find it when they search Google Base. In fact, based on the relevance of your items, they may also be included in the main Google search index and other Google products like Froogle and Google Local.”
I personally find the last tidbit of information concerning the Google search index very interesting. Google Base will no doubt become an arena of SEO competition..
