Develop Useful Error Pages

In the early days of the web, trying to navigate to a page that wasn’t there caused your web browser to have something of a minor stroke; it just stopped working, and you weren’t going anywhere.

Before long, web designers got smarter, and we started using the infamous “404 Page” to announce that the page you were looking for wasn’t there anymore, or maybe never was in the first place. So what do you do with yours? Well, the first thing you have to decide is whether to even 404 or not in the first place.

Feedback Analytics: A Year in Review

Back in August 2009, we implemented a new customer feedback technology to our website. This program creates a pop-up window requesting viewers to respond to questions regarding their experience on the site. The software is called Kampyle, and it allows you to easily manage and analyze consumer feedback. The feedback form requests users to rank the website 1 – 5, and to select a comment topic: bug, suggestion or site content. Once the user submits this form, Kampyle analyzes the information and groups it appropriately by rank and topic for easy analysis.

How can you judge a company’s success? Simple – by its levels of customer satisfaction. One of the most basic rules of business: A happy customer is a repeat customer.

Competition is at an all-time high and companies are trying everything from operating dozens of social networking sites to running daily promotions in order to gain and keep customers. Rather than expand rapidly into dozens of various marketing strategies, why not go straight to the source and ask the consumer what’s working and what isn’t?
