Shopping Cart Functionality

E-commerce functionality
Shopping Cart is a powerful engine for doing business online. It will enable site visitors to search or browse through product catalog in a very convenient and intuitive way, chose products to add to shopping cart/check out, as well as manage their accounts.
The client will be able to receive orders securely, calculate tax and shipping costs and process transactions through industry best technology.
Product catalog only
The client may choose not to use e-commerce functionality and only make his/her site into catalog of products they offer but not giving site visitors the ability to buy anything online.
CMS
The client will have the possibility of adding content groups, assigning them to different menus on the site, as well as adding articles and assigning them to selected content groups.
Mailing
The system will send automated e-mails to site customers, such as order charge and shipping confirmation, as well as newsletter signup confirmation.
Contact form
Not only will it contain company contact info, but it will also allow site visitors to contact the store and submit their questions or suggestions by filling the simple and customizable form.
Dynamically created Site map
Site map lists all pages on your web site, in this way helping visitors find a desired page on the site. It is generated in an automatic way, which means any changes in product catalog or site content will be immediately included on the site map.
Calculating shipping & tax in shopping cart
Site visitors will have the option to calculate shipping and tax cost for their order on Shopping Cart page, before they start checkout process.
Quick registration on login page
This will allow customers to register a new account without having to checkout.
Custom text on login page
The client may need to place some custom text on login page.
Advanced search
The client may need to use advanced search functionality, which allows to define such search criteria as: category, brand, price range and selected attributes which the client wants to be used for advanced search.
More complicated advanced search may be agreed upon to be implemented as custom feature.
Custom search
The client may need the ability to use more customized search functionality, such as searching for studios/retailers or instructors/artists etc. by zip code or state & city.
Product import
The client may need to import product data from his/her existing database or csv/xml files to the new Cart3 db.
Supported data formats are described in separate documents. Importing data in a different format will require custom work.

The client may need to import customer data from his/her existing database or xml files to the new Cart3 db.
Reports
The client will be provided with detailed real-time Site Traffic & Sales Reports to in order to help him/her drive sales and forecast revenue. The reports will include the following: Sales report, References report, Activity report, Repeat customers report, Customer Sales report, Shipping Turnaround report, Profit Report, as well as Geographic report and Graphs.
Multiple stores
The client will have the option to integrate two or more different stores into the same database of products. At the same time the stores will have their own unique look & feel.
Customer groups
The client may need to have different customer types and be able to assign different prices to every customer group.
Level of the top navigation
The most common solution for most of Cart3 sites is one level of top navigation. This navigation contains some standard links, such as Home and Contact Us, but it also gives the client the possibility to assign their own links, e.g. to selected categories or articles.
Levels of the top navigation – expandable / non-expandable
The client may want to have 2 levels of top navigation, with the second level displayed when a selected category is chosen. This additional level of navigation may be expandable – dynamic, only displayed on mouse over or non-expandable – static, always visible.
Displaying Categories in the top navigation
The client may want to display all or some selected categories in the top navigation. If the client wants all categories to be displayed in the top navigation they will appear there by default. If the client wants only some selected categories to appear in the top navigation, those categories will need to be assigned to the top navigation menu in CMS.
Shop by Category in the left navigation
Shop by Category will contain all different available categories of products. Each of the categories can have subcategories to choose from. Upon selection of the lowest category in the hierarchy (whichever it may be) a list of products of the relevant category will appear, from which visitors will be able to choose and add to shopping cart/check out.
The client will have the option to determine if a particular category should be displayed in the left navigation or not.
Unlimited number of categories in the left navigation
The number of categories will not be limited in any way, which means all categories in the catalog which have been assigned to show up in the left navigation will appear there.
If the left navigation design is based on a certain number of blocks in different colors, these blocks will be repeated as many times as necessary.

The number of categories may be limited to a certain value in order to make sure the design will not be affected if more categories are added to the left navigation then were anticipated.
Level of subcategories
The client may choose to only use one level of subcategories if there’s no need for more of them in his/her store’s structure.
More levels of subcategories
The client may choose to use more levels of subcategories if his/her store’s structure contains many levels of depth.
Shop by Brand
Shop by Brand will contain all different available brands to choose from. Upon selection of a desired brand a list of products of the relevant brand will appear, from which visitors will be able to choose and add to shopping cart/check out.
Shop by Price
Shop by Price will contain different price ranges to choose from, configurable by the client. Upon selection of a desired price range a list of products of the relevant price range will appear, from which visitors will be able to choose and add to shopping cart/check out.
Newsletter signup
The client has the possibility to allow visitors to sign up for newsletter and in this way receive the most up-to-date news from the site.
Search in top navigation
Keyword search functionality will enable internal site search of key words. The client will have the option to place the search field in the top navigation.

Keyword search functionality will enable internal site search of key words. The client will have the option to place the search field in the left navigation.
Custom search
The client may need the ability to use more customized search functionality, such as searching for studios/retailers or instructors/artists etc. by zip code or state & city. Those custom search blocks may be placed in the left navigation.
Advanced search
The client may need to use advanced search functionality, which allows to define such search criteria as: category, brand, price range and selected attributes which the client wants to be used for advanced search.
This advanced search block may be placed in the left navigation, or there may also be a link under keyword search, going to advanced search page.
Category quick links at the bottom of every page
The client may want to use category quick links at the bottom of some or all site pages. They will be configurable so that the client will be able to determine which categories to include in the quick links boxes.
Brand quick links at the bottom of every page
The client may want to use brand quick links at the bottom of some or all site pages. They will include a list of all brands the client sells from.
Hide “Website design by Ecommercepartners.net”
“Website design by Ecommecepartners.net” link is placed by default in page footer.
The client may want to hide this link at additional cost.
Replace “Website design by Ecommercepartners.net” with Site Credits
“Website design by Ecommercepartners.net” link is placed by default in page footer.
The client may want to hide this link at additional cost and replace it with Site Credits link, which will open a popup window.
Home Page banner
The client may want to display an updateable Home Page main banner, which will may be a link to any page on the site, such as a product, category or article page, etc.
Home Page flash – static / popup
The client may want to display an updateable Home Page flash movie. The flash may be displayed in a designated area on the Home Page or may open in a pop-up window.

The client may want to display an updateable Home Page video. The video may be displayed in a designated area on the Home Page or may open in a pop-up window.
Home Page article
The client may want to have an introductory text displayed in the main section of the home page. This text will be updateable via CMS.
Product swatches
The client may want to display selected products on the Home Page as product swatches. Those products may change on page reload, if desired.
Featured Categories
The client may want to set one or more categories as special and display them on the home page.

On Sale product listing
On Sale will be a list of products being currently on sale. Visitors will be able to choose a product from this list and add it to shopping cart/check out.

Clearance / Super Value product listing
Clearance / Super Value will be a list of products with the savings equal or greater than specified value. Visitors will be able to choose a product from this list and add it to shopping cart/check out.
The client will have the option to determine the percentage of savings needed for a product to appear on this list page.
The client may want to have this product listing included on the home page. In such case he/she will be able to specify how many products will appear in this section on the home page.
Just in / What’s new product listing
Just in / What’s new will be a list of new arrivals to the site. Visitors will be able to choose a product from this list and add it to shopping cart/check out.

This feature allows to designate selected products as related.
Related products are displayed on a product page and may be products of the same brand, similar style, etc.
Up-sell products (1-way or 2-way)
This feature allows to designate selected products as up-sell.
Up-sell products are additional products offered to a customer to buy with the "main" product and may be some accessories that go well with the original product.
Quantity multiplier
This feature will allow the client to specify how many units are sold per product.
Product attributes
This feature will allow the client to specify numerous attributes for each product and display them on product pages.
The attributes may then be used for advanced search or product comparison.
Tabs in product description
This feature will allow to display product features in form of a few tabs.
Image swatches for product options
This feature will allow to use images as swatches for displaying product options.
Color HEX swatches for product options
This feature will allow to define colors in HEX format and use them as swatches for displaying product options.
Can’t be delivered products
This feature will allow the client to determine that some products offered can’t be delivered. When purchasing such a product, a customer will need to pick it up at store.
Call for pricing products
The client may want site visitors to call for certain product’s pricing. Such products won’t have any price displayed on the site.
Products available only in-store
This feature will allow the client to determine that some products offered will only be available in store, but not online. Such products will have all their info displayed on the site, but they won’t be available for purchase.
Product image resize/crop tool
This feature will allow the client to automatically scale/crop images to proper size when uploading them or manually specify crop area.
Multiple images of a single product
This feature will allow the client to assign multiple images to each product.
Site visitors will be able to display a pop-up with the product’s full-size image and more views.
Large Image pop-up on product page
This feature will allow site visitors to display a pop-up with the product’s full-size image and more views.
E-mail to a friend
This feature will allow site visitors to send a product link to a friend by filling in a simple form.
Free samples
This feature will allow the client to offer free samples to each order which meets certain criteria.
Product video
This feature will allow to upload a product video and display it in a pop-up on the product page.
Expandable product description
The client may want long description on a product page to expand / collapse when clicking on a link.
Size chart
The client may want to add a link to size chart on a product page to help site visitors better define the product size they should choose when purchasing.
Product customization
This feature will allow site visitors to personalize the product they want to purchase, e.g. by adding custom text, embossment or image.
Other styles from the same brand
The client may want to display other styles from a certain brand on product pages.
Form product display
This feature will allow to display product info on the product page in form-like style. This is a default way of displaying product info.
Table product display
This feature will allow to display product info on the product page in table-like style.
Category steps
Each category may be assigned its own unique steps, which will work on category pages as filters, showing only products assigned to a certain step. A product may belong to different steps in different categories.
Buy button on product list pages
Product list pages may also show Buy button for each product, which will enable visitors to add selected product to shopping cart. This is especially useful when products don’t have configurable options. However, if the product has more options to be chosen from, its default variation will be added to shopping cart after the button has been clicked on a product list page.
Compare products
This feature will allow site visitors to select a number of products to be compared by certain attributes.
Express checkout
This feature allows site visitors to complete checkout with previously used shipping and billing information.
Guest Checkout
This feature allows site visitors to complete checkout without registering an account.
Disclaimer
The client may want his/her customers to have to agree to terms and conditions before the user can complete checkout.
Referral site
The client may want to place an additional field during account registration / checkout process in order to gather information from the customers on how they heard about the site.
Verisign payment
The client may want to use online credit card processing via Verisign’s Payflow Pro.
Authorize.net payment
The client may want to use online credit card processing via Authorize.net.
Taxes applying to products
The products sold by the client may be taxable in certain states – please provide states and tax rates.

The client may want to allow site visitors to ship their orders to multiple recipients.
Return shipping
This feature allows site visitors to purchase return shipping for rental products.
Distance shipping
The client may need the ability to calculate shipping cost based on the distance between his/her location center in a relevant state and the shipping destination.
Custom pick up option
This option will allow site visitors to choose Pick-up as their shipping option, which means they prefer to pick up their order in person either in one of the client’s location centers or during a selected special event.
Inventory manager
This feature will allow the client to manage his/her inventory as well as add shipments and suppliers info.
Coupon manager
This feature will allow the client to manage coupons and promotions given to his/her clients.
Gift Wrapping
This feature will allow site visitors to gift wrap purchased products with a selected paper and card.
Gift Certificates
This feature will allow the client to sell gift certificates, which site visitors will buy either for themselves or their friends / family.
The certificate will be sent to a specified e-mail address, and upon activation, it will give its recipient a certain discount when purchasing.
Wish List
The feature will allow a site visitor to add a product to his/her wish list, view the wish list online or send the wish list by e-mail to a friend. It will also be possible to input "friends and family" information to notify/remind them of upcoming events (i.e. anniversary, birthday, valentines day, mothers day, fathers day, Christmas/ Chanukah, or other.)
Blog
The client may want to have a blog, where he/she will post latest news, articles or any other information that site visitors may find helpful.
Calendar
The client may want to have a calendar, where he/she will post info on upcoming events.
Lookbook
LookBook is a kind of product gallery, containing numerous images modeling some of the products available, as chosen by the client, and visitors will thereby be able to get a real feeling of the styles offered by the site. This feature will therefore provide a stylish and extravagant insight to the site’s image. Each picture is linked to the products in the picture.
Pallet calculator
Pallet calculator allows a site visitor to calculate how many pallets of grass they will need based on the size of their lawn in sq feet and the number of sq ft per pallet.
Carton calculator
Carton calculator allows a site visitor to calculate how many cartons they will need, based on the size of their floor in sq feet and the number of sq ft per carton.
Store Finder
This feature allows a site visitor to find a store authorized to carry the client’s products within a certain area.
Tartan Finder
This feature is a gallery of tartan plaids, which allows site visitors to find a desired tartan to personalize merchandise for sale at the store.
Rental center
This feature allows the client to offer personalized rental services to his/her customers.
